Thursday Evenings. 5:00 PST, which is 8:00 East Coast time, and varies by region, of course. Zoom. Come as you are, and let's sink into the warmth of creative dialogue, ideas, inspiration and conversation. This is a bit of a book club for those who like to enter into compressed, very human ideas and experiences, through award winning essays and conversation. In this six-week course we'll read the approximately 21 essays collected together in Best American Essays of 2026. All of the essays in this collection have made it through multiple rounds of editors and been chosen as the "best" of the year. What makes an essay succeed? What do we respond to? What might we like to do in our own writing? Big ideas, big hearts, great discussion. Join!
